We love our new bedroom furniture: wardrobes, bedside tables, a shelf on the chimney breast and bookshelves. The furniture is well fitted and finished, and it maximises the storage space in the room, eliminating all of those dead spaces that become dust traps. The bookshelves are capacious and enable us to personalise the space. The bedside tables are well-designed and provide a top draw for small items and a larger cupboard underneath. Everything uses soft-close hinges. It’s a real improvement to the room.”

Wardrobes – Bedrooms – we love our wardrobes as we know they are truly unique – designed and fitted to suit our rooms, taken right to the ceiling with no awkward gaps. The solid construction, millimetre perfect joints, and option to re-paint at any time means that this furniture is sure to stand the test of time!

Kitchen – we love our kitchen as it looks and feel like no other kitchen – the bespoke carpentry, millimetre perfect joints and solid construction lifts it way beyond anything to be found on the high street!

Wall Panelling – Snug – we love this feature because it has transformed a dreary and slightly uneven wall into one of our favourite features in the whole house – always gets admired by every single visitor to our home!

Radiator Cover – Snug – we love this feature because it finishes the room off so well, removes the visual clutter of the radiator and pipes, and matches the JM panelling in the same room! “

Whether it’s simple and understated or complicated and elegant James Mayor always deliver value, quality workmanship. The kitchen they designed for us provides all the storage we could want while being able to withstand the battering from 2 young children, a pleasure to prepare and eat meals in. Advice was given at all stages from lighting to colour to appliances and finishing touches. The fact it is hand painted also means if we ever get bored with the colour we can change it easily. I would highly recommend the personal touch they provide.“

My James Mayor furniture has made my house a home and I couldn’t be happier. The furniture is so well designed that it looks as though it’s been there forever. I absolutely love my new wardrobes – they look so tall elegant and make a real statement when entering the room. I also like how the straight lines in the door design and colour of the door knobs complement the fireplace. There is so much storage too – there is no wasted space. I can see all of my lovely shoes and no more hiding boxes under the bed! “

The wardrobes helped me to achieve my dream nursery, they really helped to bring the room together adding another dimension with the wall panelling. The nursery is our favourite room in the house, it just feels so whimsical and like something out of a homes magazine. We have James Mayor cabinets in our kitchen and furniture in 4 of our bedrooms. We love the clean lines, organised space and contemporary twist to a traditional design. The cupboards are really well made and give us a place to put everything. Our kitchen certainly has a wow factor and will be great for entertaining when we are allowed to do that again!!“

We are extremely happy with the new bookcase which has added a new dimension to the room. We were initially concerned about how it might look but it has all come together & looks great. The design , manufacture and installation all went well (without any help from the lockdown) & the fitters were all polite & clean workers all in all a good job. “

Rarely a day goes by when I don’t look at the wardrobes in our bedroom and think about how right you were to suggest we use the whole wall, rather than just the alcoves. They still look great and we are enjoying them so much.

I also love my bookshelves and, as the dining room is now my working from home space, all my work colleagues have also had a chance to admire them!”

Our house has been made a home because of the beautiful furniture (fitted and free standing) designed and made by James Mayor. Almost every room has been touched by James Mayor magic and it is all timeless! We have listed below a little of what we feel about each room:

TV lounge incorporating a Bar – we wanted to house a large TV but not let it overpower the area. The cabinetry cleverly allows this and includes a hidden gem, our Bar. There is ample storage to the right of the TV and all the equipment is hidden away.

Kitchen and utility – this is the heart of our home. It is stunning yet functional. There is ample storage and we simply LOVE LOVE LOVE this area.

Nanny’s Room – the design of the fitted furniture compliments the high ceilings. The colours chosen make the room tranquil. The walnut free standing unit is stunning and adds timeless class.

Playroom – The design of these cupboards are ideal for little people. No handles for them to hang off and the SO SO SO much storage to hide away ALL the toys and mess. Just perfect.

Bookcase – what can we say other than it is STUNNING! A perfect use of the landing area. Just class.

Master bedroom and dressing room – The free standing walnut furniture creates timeless elegance and a wonderful contrast to the the dressing room, which is just gorgeous. The panelling behind the bed adds a wonderful feature to the bedroom.

Laundry room – just the right amount of storage designed for this room. Using the same worktops as the kitchen is clever to provide continuity through the home.

Spare room – the tongue and groove on one wall provides a welcome break from plain walls.

Boys’ rooms – fantastic use of the wall space ensuring we have enough storage as the children grow.

Office – cannot say anything other it is pure class and elegance!

Second office – a clever use of an awkward space and ideal for storing seasonal and party clothes.

We wanted a room where the 5 (sometimes 6!) of us could hang up our coats and scarves, and put away our shoes. The children have way too many coats, but I don’t care now because they’re all hidden away in the purpose-built cupboard (double rail) along with their book bags and other bits and pieces, again built into the large bespoke cupboard. I can close the doors and not see the mess in this, my favourite room in the house.

The panelling was a gorgeous addition, one I wouldn’t have thought of. The hooks are sturdy and the paint job perfect. It is 100% what I wanted.”
